Pack 331 Announcement

March Committee (and Parents) Meeting

March 9, 2026

March 9 - Committee Meeting & Playground Hang

Join us for a short Pack Committee Meeting intended for all available parents. This will be a helpful time to hear a few key Pack updates, review upcoming events, share feedback, and ask questions directly to Pack leaders. We hope it gives every family a better understanding of what is ahead and a chance to be part of the conversation.

At the same time, Scouts will enjoy a loosely structured playground hangout with some guidance and supervision from leaders and older Scouts. It will be a fun chance for them to play, socialize, and spend time together as a Pack while parents meet nearby.

Pack Youth Playground Hang

Youth Meeting Details:

  • 6:30 - 7:30 PM
  • St. Monica Playground

Youth Participants:

The entire Pack (all Dens) and some older Scouts. The Webelos will be working on a cooking adventure over by the garage (still near the playground) and will not be on the playground.

Youth Agenda:

  • Songs and short activities in the field, led by Mr. Kevin and older Scouts.
  • Playground time, supervised by older Scouts and any adults not participating in Committee meeting.

Adult Committee Meeting

Adult Committee Meeting Details:

  • 6:40 - 7:10 PM
  • Very near the St. Monica Playground

Adult Participants:

The entire current Pack Committee and all adults available. We will rally near the playground, feel free to join the huddle and even bring a camp chair if you want to be comfortable!

Committee Meeting Agenda

1. General Pack Update (<5 min)

Pack Committee Chair Robb Harper will give a short general update on the Pack and share a few important items families should know as we look at how things are going this program year—our own little “State of the Pack,” just shorter and with less clapping.

  • What is the Pack Committee?
  • Current membership
  • New Lion Den Leader, Brian Hunter!
  • Open adult volunteer needs
  • Facilities update at St. Monica
  • Rank advancements

2. Upcoming Events (<5 min)

March Conservation Service Project

Come lend a hand and make a visible difference in our community at this month’s Conservation Service Project. Scouts will team up with the City of Edmond for a simple but meaningful project that helps protect local waterways, and it is a great chance to give back while also working toward rank advancement. It should be a fun, worthwhile morning of service, and we would love to see plenty of Pack 331 Scouts out there helping.

  • Date: Saturday, March 28
  • Time: 10:00 AM
  • Project: Marking stormwater drains in the Delmer Lakes North neighborhood
  • Partner: City of Edmond
  • Length: Approximately 1–2 hours
  • Who should attend: Any Scout interested in helping, especially those needing a service project for rank advancement
  • Waiver required: Can be completed the morning of the event
  • Meeting location: Delmer Lakes North Playground, roughly 3116 Poppy Lane
  • Questions: Text AJ Crowell at 405-203-2178

Fishing Nights (Currently Being Planned)

We are working on planning a couple of upcoming Pack Meeting fishing nights (3/30 and 4/20) and would love your help. If you know of a good pack-friendly local pond, please let us know. We would especially appreciate any location suggestions, contacts, or leads that might help us find a great place to host these events.

Spring Family Camp - Top Shot JR

Top Shot Jr. is our spring camping adventure and one of the most exciting outdoor events of the year. Scouts will have the chance to participate in BB guns, slingshots, and archery—activities that are only offered on limited occasions in Cub Scouting. It is always a favorite weekend, and Scouts will also have the opportunity to earn three activity belt loops.

We hope you can join us for a great weekend of fun and adventure. All of the advancement events will be on Saturday, those that do not want to family camp are welcome to come out for Saturday only. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.

  • Dates: May 1–3
  • Location: John Nichols Scout Ranch, 12109 S County Line Rd., near Mustang
  • Registration: Now open
  • Cost: $35 for Scouts, $10 for adults
  • Meals: Unlike the fall campout, we will be cooking all meals in camp except lunch, so there will be an additional food cost
  • Activities: BB guns, slingshots, and archery
  • Advancement Opportunity: Scouts can earn three activity belt loops during the weekend
  • Required for attendance: Completed medical forms for all participants
  • Required for camping: All Cub Scouts must tent with their parents/guardian adult(s)
  • Required for camping adults: Current Youth Protection Training certificate
  • Questions: Text Cubmaster Craig Albauer at 405-473-4999

OKC Comets Scout Night

Join us for a fun night at the ballpark for OKC Comets Scout Night on Saturday, May 9. This special event is a great chance for Scouts and families to enjoy a game together while taking part in some extra Scout-only activities before first pitch. From early entry and pregame fun to the on-field parade, it should be a memorable evening for everyone attending.

  • Event: OKC Comets Scout Night
  • Date: Saturday, May 9, 2026
  • Game Time: 6:05 PM CDT
  • Early Entry for Scouts: 4:00 PM
  • Cost: $27, advanced purchase required
  • Scout Ticket Includes: OKC Comets hat and collector’s edition patch
  • Pregame Activities: Lawn games, music, and a pregame meal
  • Special Opportunity: All Scouts and leaders in uniform may participate in the on-field parade
  • Who should attend: Scouts, leaders, and families looking for a fun Pack outing

3. Start, Stop, Continue (5-10 min)

Start, Stop, Continue is a simple feedback segment where parents can share thoughts on recent events and activities—what we should start doing, what we should stop doing, and what is worth continuing in the future. This input will help us make improvements as we plan for next year.

We will be looking for feedback on:

  • Pinewood Derby (1/17)
  • Blue & Gold Banquet (2/21)

4. Pack 94 Transition (<5 min)

Robb will also briefly touch on the transition plan to Pack 94 for next program year, including a few key details families should know as we look ahead. Please bring any questions you might have, as there will be time for a breakout question-and-answer discussion at the end.

Please be sure to watch the announcement video before the meeting, if at all possible!

Please take a moment to complete the survey following the video and let Pack leaders know whether your family is interested in transitioning to Pack 94 or remaining with Pack 331. Your response is very important as we plan for next program year and work to understand how best to support every Scout and family through this transition.

So far, 25 families have shared their feedback, and 32 youth are currently planning to transition to Pack 94. Thank you to everyone who has already responded—your input is helping Pack leaders make informed plans for the future.

5. The Future of Pack 331 (<5 min)

Walt Ifill, the soon-to-be Chartered Organization Representative (COR) of Pack 331 and Troop 331 at St. Monica Catholic Church, will briefly share a few words with families, including some key details about the future of Scouting at St. Monica. Please bring any questions you might have, as there will be time for a breakout question-and-answer discussion at the end.

There is strong interest and real commitment behind continuing Pack 331 at St. Monica. The parish and Troop 331 leaders want to make it clear that Scouting at St. Monica is not ending, that families do have the option to stay, and that a new Pack leadership team is being assembled with the goal of delivering a strong program for the 2026–2027 year.

Please be sure to read the informative letter from Walt before the meeting, if at all possible!

6. Q&A Breakout (Until 7:30+)

We will wrap up the meeting and allow time for breakout Q&A sessions, so everyone has a chance to ask their questions. You don't have to stick around, though all are welcome to! All adults who would like to learn more or speak with future Pack 94 leaders or Troop 331 leaders about the future of Scouting at St. Monica are encouraged to join a breakout conversation.
